Principal says silence not meant to hide facts in Zara inquest
KOTA KINABALU: The Principal of SMKA Tun Mustapha said she followed civil service rules by not issuing public statements about the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir, adding that silence should not be mistaken for concealing information.

Shaharoom Hashim said the school had fully cooperated with investigators from the beginning and continued to assist them throughout the process.

The principal explained that staff had provided all information requested by the authorities because they, too, were grieving the loss of a young student.

She noted that the school had faced several accusations during the inquest, including claims involving a washing machine and alleged CCTV tampering.
