LAHAD DATU: PKR Sabah head Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said any positive outcome from the current negotiations on Sabah’s long-awaited 40 per cent revenue entitlement should see the money placed in a special fund for transparency.
He said the fund should prioritise core issues such as infrastructure and education for Sabah’s youth, ensuring funds are spent according to actual needs without delays.
“The establishment of this special fund is an important step to make sure every allocation truly reaches the people,” he said.
He also said PH Sabah’s manifesto launch on Thursday would focus on resolving Sabah’s long-standing basic issues and continuing the Madani Government’s work, much of which has already been carried out.
“Continuity is vital to ensure federal allocations truly reach the people and address on-the-ground needs,” he said, at a press conference with PH’s Segama candidate, Romansa Lamin.
He also reaffirmed PH’s friendly ties with Upko despite the end of formal political cooperation.
He highlighted that fighting for Sabah’s rights must go hand in hand with maintaining national unity.
