RANAU: Sabahans should vote for Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to ensure that the future of their children is more secure and that the state's development can continue, said GRS Sec-Gen Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
The incumbent for the Karanaan seat said the people of this state should take into account the common interests and the future of the younger generation in every decision.
“The world today is very competitive and the competition is increasing. Therefore, the people need to make more careful decisions and not be complacent, because the future of their children is a very important priority.
“I emphasise this because many candidates and the opposition parties have not touched on the future of the new generation in this state,” he said, when met after the GRS Candidate Mandate programme at Pentas Budaya.
Under the GRS government, free education will be provided to Sabah students who pursue their studies at state government-owned higher education institutions such as University College Yayasan Sabah (UCSF) and Kolej Teknologi Yayasan Sabah (KTYS).
The initiative was announced by caretaker Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He wants to see the direction and future of Sabah become more developed with more local children capable of managing the state from various aspects.
“With this ability, we feel very proud to be Sabahans because we are able to manage our own state and have our own characteristics," he said.
Masidi called on youth voters to fulfil their responsibility by voting to ensure a more secure future.
“Youth need to be involved in politics because that is where they can determine their own direction," he said.
Masidi is involved in a seven-cornered fight with Georgina L George (Upko), Karim Bin Adam (KDM), Nadzimin Kamin (BN), Mohd Anuar Bin Abd Ghani (Star), Mukinin @ Mazlan Bin Daiman (Warisan) and Naomi @ Neomi Francis (Independent).
