PAPAR: A house in Kampung Benoni here was destroyed in a fire on Wednesday afternoon, with firefighters arriving within minutes of receiving the alarm.

Firefighters from the Papar station found the semi-permanent home almost fully engulfed and a parked Hyundai Matrix completely burned, but no injuries were reported.

The team brought the blaze under control using an offensive approach with water drawn from their engine tank before confirming the area was safe and ending operations at 4pm.
