SANDAKAN: Tanjong Papat candidate Mohd Yunus Apil of Perjuangan Rakyat has pledged to bring improvements to the area if elected.
Among his priorities are addressing the area’s worsening traffic flow and the lack of parking spaces affecting residents. For water issues, he said plans include establishing a dedicated water treatment plant for the town area and Kampung Sim-Sim, in collaboration with relevant agencies and consultants.
“We also aim to create more small business opportunities for residents and introduce an ‘Up Town’ commercial area here, in addition to boosting tourism from within and outside the country,” he said.
He added that tackling unemployment will also be a key focus, particularly in ensuring that youths and job seekers can find work locally without having to leave the district and their families.
