RANAU: Caretaker State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said during a meet-the-people session in Kampung Tudan on Sunday that Sabah had requested Federal revenue statistics 19 times in its effort to establish the State’s rightful 40 per cent revenue entitlement under MA63.
Masidi, who is also GRS's Karanaan candidate, said that without verified figures, Sabah could not form a clear baseline for its claims and had been forced at times to compute its own estimates.
Masidi stressed that negotiations with Putrajaya required patience and accuracy, adding that settlements would still need formal approval even if the state succeeded through legal channels.
He also urged voters to reject coarse political tactics, saying dignity and courtesy were central to Dusun values and should guide leaders who negotiate on Sabah’s behalf.
Masidi reminded the audience that revenue rights translate into real benefits—including elderly aid, housing deposit support and free tertiary education—and called on youths to choose leaders who deliver results rather than rely on noise.
