PENAMPANG: Upko’s Moyog candidate Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin hailed the resignation from the Federal Cabinet of party President Datuk Ewon Benedick as an example of principle-based service and in defence of Sabah’s rights.
“Sabah First is not just a slogan, it is a signal for us to rise and unite. If we do not fight for Sabah now, who will? If not now, when?” he said.
Addressing local concerns, he noted persistent water supply problems.
“Long-term projects are important, but residents also need timely support now,” Donald said.
Donald also spoke on youth challenges, with many uncertain about the next step after the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM).
He outlined plans for guidance on education, skills training, vocational pathways and entrepreneurship through community channels.
He also urged the Moyog Service Centre to remain accessible year-round for welfare applications, documentation and medical aid.
Other priorities included healthcare support for seniors, infrastructure and potential development of ecotourism and agro-based initiatives.
The 12-cornered fight for Moyog also features Joeynodd Bansin (GRS), Remysta Jimmy Taylor (PKR), Terrence Siambun (Warisan), Joseph Suleiman (Star), Mckery Victor Ninin (KDM), Walter Norbert Johnny (PBK), Francis Mojikon (PN), Richard Dompok (Parti Kebangsaan Sabah), Cleftus Stephen Spine (Parti Impian Sabah) and two independent candidates, Peter Maurice Lidadun and Ricky Chang.
