Penampang needs a hospital, says Donald
Donald also renewed calls for a government health facility in the district, pointing out that a previously identified site for a health centre has been delayed, leaving residents with limited access to essential medical services.
PENAMPANG: Upko’s Moyog candidate Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin pledged to expand efforts to issue land titles across Moyog villages.

He said Upko President Datuk Ewon Benedick, managed to ensure land titles for over 100 acres to residents in Kampung Togudon under the Pantas scheme.

“For the people of Sabah, land is their ‘Koposizon’, which means life and it represents who we are.

“If we lose our land, we lose the essence of our people,” he said, highlighting the cultural and emotional importance of secure land ownership for native communities.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
Donald also renewed calls for a government health facility in the district, pointing out that a previously identified site for a health centre has been delayed, leaving residents with limited access to essential medical services.

“My own sister had to be rushed to emergency early in the morning. If there was a facility here, her life might have been saved,” he said, highlighting the urgency of healthcare provision in the constituency.

He outlined a 10-year development plan for Moyog, including improving broadband access, providing more reliable utilities, and establishing a dedicated youth training and career centre linked to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and HRD Corp programmes, which would also offer guidance on entrepreneurship and vocational skills.

“I want our youths to know what career fits their personality and prepare before they enter university or the workforce,” he said.

He also emphasised that the centre could serve as a space for recreation, networking, and e-sports activities to nurture well-rounded future leaders.

On Sabah’s broader political direction, Donald highlighted the need for local unity among Sabah-based parties, citing Sarawak’s model of cooperation as an example for the state to follow in addressing regional issues and strengthening governance.

“This election might be our best chance, but we must do it properly with no prejudice, no division, only what is best for Sabah,” he said.

He also urged voters to prioritise candidates who can serve the community effectively and defend Sabah’s interests.

He highlighted that 13 out of 29 outstanding issues between the Federal and State governments are either resolved or currently in progress, including Sabah’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement, which was confirmed by the High Court on Oct 17.

As Moyog heads into a 12-cornered contest on Nov 29, Donald said he is confident that voters will make informed decisions, valuing candidates on their ability to deliver solutions for both local and broader state concerns.
