TAWAU: Police arrested a foreign man in his 20s suspected of attempting to break into a house in Kampung Sungai Buaya Batu 3, Jalan Apas on Tuesday.
District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the suspect is linked to a previous housebreaking case in Taman Berjaya last month.
A 22cm knife was also found concealed on him.
The arrest followed a raid by the District Criminal Investigation Division at 2.50pm based on intelligence.
The victim first noticed the intruder at 1.35am on Nov 3 after his security alarm went off and saw him entering the compound via CCTV.
The suspect panicked and fled after a warning through the CCTV’s audio system.
He is now detained and being investigated under the Penal Code, the Dangerous Weapons Act 1957, and the Immigration Act 1959/63.
