KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Government remains open to foreign investment, particularly from China, as it seeks to strengthen economic growth through long-term and sustainable partnerships, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said.
He said Sabah has strong potential in sectors such as oil and gas, energy, the blue economy, tourism, modern agriculture and green technology, which could be developed through strategic cooperation.
Hajiji added that collaboration with Chinese investors could bring tangible benefits, including technology transfer, job creation and the strengthening of local supply chains.
He was speaking during a courtesy call by the Consul-General of China in Kota Kinabalu, Dr Zhu Xinglong, at Menara Kinabalu here on Thursday.
During the meeting, Hajiji expressed hope that the Chinese Consulate would help promote Sabah as an attractive investment destination, while Zhu briefed him on ongoing initiatives and extended invitations for future engagements and trade discussions in China.
