KUNAK: The road maintenance concessionaire carried out repair works on a damaged section at an intersection in Kampung Simpang Empat, here, on Thursday.
Residents had earlier complained that an access road leading to their residential area had been unusable since last week due to the existence of a large pothole.
The situation forced road users to use alternative routes for their daily activities.
“We hope immediate action can be taken as this road is used daily by vehicles,” said a resident.
Daily Express had raised the matter with the road maintenance concessionaire.
A site inspection on Thursday found that repair works were being carried out by the concessionaire.
Previously, residents had taken temporary measures by filling the pothole with cement and gravel to reduce the risk of accidents.
