Kota Kinabalu: Head of State Tun Musa Aman
(right) received a courtesy call from Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud (second right) at Istana Seri Kinabalu, Tuesday.
Mustapha said the meeting was aimed at obtaining the State’s views on implementation priorities and planning related to issues under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
Among the matters discussed was the proposed 40 per cent revenue formula and how the funds, once finalised, could be used to address Sabah’s long-standing infrastructure challenges, particularly road connectivity, water supply and electricity.
“For me, these are key priorities, and the people of Sabah want clarity on the current status of the negotiations. I will take follow-up action to ensure these issues can be properly negotiated,” he told reporters after the meeting.
The courtesy call also provided an opportunity for Mustapha to formally introduce himself as the newly appointed Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs) and to brief Musa on the latest developments in the MA63 negotiations.
Also present were Sabah Federal Secretary Datuk Mohd Razali Wahab, Political Secretary Ahmad Nazib Johari, Division Secretary Mohd Saiful Sungkih Abdullah and Senior Private Secretary Khairul Iswadi Ishak.
