LAHAD DATU: Three men, including a local resident, were detained in two separate operations by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division on Monday.

District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said in the first operation, a 46-year-old local man was arrested at Kampung Bakau after police found 0.21 grammes of substances believed to be Syabu in his possession. 

A urine test also confirmed he had consumed drugs.

In the second operation, two foreign men were arrested behind a supermarket building on Jalan Reno Fajar. A search found 0.23 grammes of Syabu on one suspect, while the other had no illegal substances.

However, urine tests confirmed both had consumed drugs.

“All suspects are currently in custody for investigation under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug possession and Section 15(1)(a) for drug consumption,” he added.
