SEMPORNA: Police arrested three local men in separate drug operations over the weekend, seizing a total of more than 10 grams of syabu.
The first arrest took place at Kampung Bangau-Bangau, Semporna, where a 31-year-old man was caught carrying 5.66 grams of the substance.
District Police Chief Supt. Tan Hiap Wah said the man was spotted behaving suspiciously and voluntarily handed over the drugs during an inspection. He has no prior criminal record, and the case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
In Lahad Datu, a 36-year-old man was arrested at Batu 1, Jalan Segama, with 5.02 grams of syabu and drug-related tools. He tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine and has previous drug convictions.
His case is being investigated under Sections 39A(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act.
Another 31-year-old man in Lahad Datu was also detained after his urine tested positive for drugs. Police stressed they will continue strict enforcement to safeguard the community and urged the public to report any drug-related activities.
