PUTATAN: A fire damaged 17 stilt houses at Kampung Dumpil here on Thursday, with no casualties reported.
The Fire and Rescue Department received the call at 6.59am and arrived at the scene at 7.04am, about four kilometres away.
The blaze involved 17 non-permanent houses, with 14 completely destroyed, one damaged by about 50 per cent and two sustaining about 10 per cent damage.
A total of 22 firefighters from Putatan, Kota Kinabalu and Penampang, assisted by Sabah Electricity and police personnel, brought the fire under control at 8.04am and ended operations at 12.51pm after ensuring the area was safe.
