KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy call from the State Sports Awards Steering Committee at his office in Menara Kinabalu on Monday.
The delegation was led by Youth Development, Sports and Creative Economy Minister Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, who extended an official invitation and briefed Hajiji on the State Sports Awards 2026.
The biennial awards ceremony is scheduled to be held here on Feb 6.
Nizam said 16 award categories will be presented, including the State Sports Personality Award, to recognise athletes who have excelled at national and international levels.
Hajiji also congratulated Sabah athletes for contributing a total of 10 gold, 15 silver and 15 bronze medals to Malaysia’s tally at the 13th Asean Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, held from Jan 21-26.
