Sabah Blind Society seeks public support

SANDAKAN: The Sabah Society for the Blind (SSB) Sandakan Branch has officially launched its Postal Appeal campaign to raise funds and public support for programmes benefiting persons with visual impairment.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Sungai Manila assemblyman, Hazem Mubarak Musa commended the organisation for its continued commitment in championing the welfare, skills development and overall well-being of its members.

He said initiatives such as skills training, welfare assistance and social activities play a crucial role in empowering the visually impaired community to live independently and with dignity.

“The Postal Appeal campaign is an effective and meaningful initiative to encourage more members of the public, private sector players and concerned individuals to contribute.

He added that even small contributions could make a significant difference in improving the lives of those in need.

Reiterating his full support, he urged more parties to come forward to collaborate with the organisation, not only through financial contributions but also by offering expertise and employment opportunities to the visually impaired.

He also called on the public to work together in building an inclusive and caring society that does not marginalise persons with disabilities.

Hazem also hopes that it would achieve its fundraising targets and ensure the smooth implementation of planned programmes.
