KENINGAU: Two men were injured when their Toyota single cab pickup truck skidded and crashed into a road divider along Jalan Sook-Nabawan early Monday.
The accident occurred at around 7.05am at Batu 27. One of the victims was identified as a 30-year-old man, while the age of the second victim was not immediately known.
Keningau Fire and Rescue Station Chief Faisal Ahmad said his team received an emergency call shortly after the crash occurred.
“We deployed six firefighters who arrived at the scene at 7.09am,” he said.
According to witnesses, the vehicle had struck the metal road divider before becoming lodged on the barrier.
“Both victims had already been taken to hospital by members of the public before our arrival,” Faisal said.
The team conducted a thorough inspection of the accident site to ensure there were no additional hazards.
Firefighters then used hydraulic rescue tools to extract the vehicle from the road divider.
Police were also at the scene.
