TAWAU: A row of non-permanent stalls comprising two separate blocks of 10 units each at Mile 15, Jalan Apas, was damaged in a fire on Tuesday night.

The Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 10.37pm and arrived at the scene at 11.03pm, with one unit estimated to be 90 per cent destroyed, and witnesses reporting a loud explosion from the middle lot before the fire broke out and spread.

A total of 18 personnel from Tawau fire station, assisted by the police, Community Fire Brigade, Sabah Electricity and APM, brought the situation under control at 11.32pm, and no casualties were reported.
