Kota Kinabalu: Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu strengthened its Ramadan initiatives this year by introducing a Dedicated Assistance Service for elderly guests and those with special needs, while also hosting 30 residents from Home Tuaran for a special Iftar gathering.
The hotel said the new assistance service, available throughout the Ramadan buffet period at Latest Recipe restaurant, is aimed at ensuring guests who require extra support can dine comfortably and with dignity.
General Manager Suresh Ramasamy said Ramadan is a time of togetherness and the hotel wants every guest to feel valued, respected and cared for.
He added that as a Sabah-rooted hospitality brand, the hotel believes inclusive service is an essential part of meaningful hospitality.
In a separate initiative under Marriott International’s Serve360: Doing Good in Every Direction platform, the hotel hosted 30 youths from Home Tuaran for a festive Iftar.
Home Tuaran provides shelter, care and developmental support for underprivileged and at-risk youths aged 12 to 19 in Sabah.
The youths were treated to the Ramadan buffet in a warm setting, with hotel associates engaging personally with them throughout the evening.
The initiative aligns with Serve360’s focus on nurturing vulnerable communities and creating lasting social impact.
A representative from Home Tuaran expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing the evening as a meaningful experience that made the youths feel valued and supported.
The hotel said both initiatives reflect its broader effort to elevate service standards while embedding empathy and social responsibility into its daily operations.
By combining inclusive guest services with community outreach, the property aims to ensure that its Ramadan observances extend beyond dining to meaningful human connection.
The management said such efforts form part of its long-term approach to responsible hospitality in Sabah.
Through purposeful engagement and sustained outreach, Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu reaffirmed its commitment to creating experiences that not only celebrate the spirit of Ramadan, but also contribute positively to the well-being of the wider community.
