KENINGAU: A tourism guidebook titled “Discover Keningau” (first edition) has been launched as an initiative to showcase the district’s unique attractions and diverse tourism products in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
Published by the Keningau Tourism and Culture Association (KeTCA), the book compiles comprehensive information on destinations, products and attractions in Keningau, serving as a useful reference for both local and international tourists.

The launch took place during the Keningau Tourism Creative Industry Awards Night on April 2 at Bandukan Resort here.
The book was officially launched by Deputy Permanent Secretary II of the Sabah Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datin Dr Cleopatra @ Clay Asing.
KeTCA Chairman Rafie Datuk Robert said the publication is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the promotion of local tourism, which still holds significant untapped potential.
“I believe many of Keningau’s tourism products are not widely known. This initiative is hoped to help local tourism operators gain greater recognition,” he said.

He added that the publication is also aligned with efforts to position Keningau as one of the must-visit destinations during Visit Keningau Year 2026.
Rafie noted that continuous promotion of local tourism products would not only attract more visitors but also contribute to boosting the local community’s economy.
Meanwhile, he hoped that “Discover Keningau” would serve as a useful guide and a source of inspiration for tourists to explore the district’s natural beauty and unique cultural heritage.
