Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor presented a State government incentive of RM5,000 to Sabah Muay Thai athlete Emmabell Cassandra in recognition of her outstanding achievement on the international stage.

The incentive was presented at the Sabah State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building here on Thursday.

The Chief Minister also extended his congratulations and expressed pride in Emmabell’s accomplishment in bringing honour to Sabah and the nation after winning the women’s category at the Byon Combat Showbiz 7 championship, held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) last Friday.

He said the success proves the ability of athletes from the State to compete and excel at the international level, while also serving as an inspiration for the younger generation to venture into sports.

The incentive presentation ceremony was also attended by the State Minister of Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Economy Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, Assistant Minister of Rural Development Datuk Juil Nuatim and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development, Sports and Creative Economy Datuk Mansur Asun.
