LABUAN: A slingshot competition held in conjunction with the 2026 Federal Territory of Labuan National Youth Day (HBN) celebration attracted participants and enthusiasts eager to test their skills, accuracy and focus in a lively sporting atmosphere.
Organised in collaboration with the Moguyong Slingshot Club, the competition was held at the Labuan Youth and Sports Complex on Sunday as part of efforts to promote healthy recreational activities among youths.

A spokesperson said the programme also served as a platform to strengthen ties within the slingshot community while introducing the sport to the wider public and younger generations.
“The programme also provided an opportunity for participants to showcase their talents while encouraging greater interest in the sport,” the spokesperson said.
The competition was among the activities lined up for the Federal Territory of Labuan National Youth Day 2026 celebration, which aims to encourage youth participation in sports and recreational activities while fostering unity under the theme “Menggerak Belia Madani” (Empowering Madani Youth).
Meanwhile, congratulations were extended to Pahat @ Supangat Chalan for his achievement at the Hundred Hoo Haa Cup International Badminton Tournament 2026 in Tangerang, Indonesia.
Pahat finished runner-up in the Men’s Doubles 70 Years category alongside his partner, Bruni Garip, and also secured third place in the singles event.
The achievement brought pride to Pahat and his family while also raising Labuan’s and Malaysia’s profile on the international stage.
The spokesperson expressed hope that Pahat’s success would inspire the younger generation and demonstrate that sporting spirit and perseverance know no age.
