NORTH BORNEO NEWS & SABAH TIMES - (July 9, 1962) - JESSELTON. – The Posts and Telegraphs Department’s Mobile Post Office, now introduced for service at Likas, Inanam, Menggatal, Telipok, Tamparuli and in the Tanjong Aru, Kepayan and Penampang areas, is a Bedford vehicle specially modified for service as a travelling Post Office, designed for the purpose of bringing much needed postal services urban and rural areas where such facilities are at present very limited. The service commences today. If the new venture is successful, as judged by public demand for the services, the Posts and Telegraphs Department hopes to extend the use of Mobile Post Offices in 1963.
