Razak, Siew Sin congratulate Stephens

North Borneo News And Sabah Times (Tuesday, 25th December 1962) - JESSELTON, Mon – Mr Donald Stephens, Chairman of the Sabah Alliance Party Executive Committee, on his arrival back from the Inter-governmental Committee Meeting yesterday was handed two cables; one was from Tun Abdul Razak and the other from Mr Tan Siew Sin.

The cables were cables of congratulations on the Alliance victory in the District Commercial actions.

In his cable, Tun Abdul Razak, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Federation of Malaya, who was Deputy Chairman of the Intergovernmental Committee on Malaysia said.

“My heartiest and most sincere congratulations on the great success of the Sabah Alliance in the Elections. Your great success shows clearly to the world that the people of Sabah are solidly behind Malaysia” Mr Tan Siew Sin, Federation of Malaya Minister of Finance and President of the Malayan Chinese Association said:

“Please accept on behalf of the MCA and myself our warmest congratulations on your heartwarming victory. This is a very promising augury for the future. All good wishes for the New Year.”
