Sabah to host closing of National Coorperative Day: Ewon

Kota Kinabalu: The 2023 National Co-operative Day (HKN) will be held from July 21 and 23 and Sabah will host the closing ceremony for the first time, said Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick.
“We have also extended an invitation to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to officiate the closing ceremony of the celebration,”

He told reporters after paying a courtesy call to Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin at Istana Seri Kinabalu, here, Wednesday, adding that the event will be held at Sabah International Convention Center (SICC).
Also present were Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP) Secretary General Datuk Seri Suriani Datuk Ahmad, Malaysian Cooperatives Commission (SKM) Executive Vice Chairman (Operations and Regulation) Siti Azlin Ahmad Dauta, SKM Executive Vice Chairman (Policy and Development), Amran Abd Kadir, Sabah SKM Director Matias Kundapin and SKM Cooperative Development Division Director Mohd Firdaus Hussin.
The purpose of the visit was to invite Tun Juhar to officiate the launching ceremony of the Cooperation Movement Appreciation Ceremony and HKN 2023 in conjunction with National Cooperative Month 2023 on July 20.
Ewon said Tun Juhar is expected to officiate and present two main awards, namely “Anugerah Tokoh Koperasi Negara” and the National Premier Cooperative Award at the event.

A total of 5,000 visitors are expected the event which will have an exhibition with over 200 domestic and international exhibitors.
There will also be a forum, career exhibition, business matching and Madani bargain sales.
