Kota Kinabalu: STATE Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment Datuk Christina Liew presenting a copy of an improved version of the 1939 Agnes Keith international classic “Land Below The Wind” to Principal of the Shanghai Badaitou Painting and Calligraphy Institute, Prof Gu Benjian.
Prof Gu led a team of five Chinese ink painters cum calligraphers from Shanghai for the China-Sabah Art Exhibition at the Sabah Art Gallery from May 7 to 12.
“Read this book if you want to know the history of British North Borneo (now Sabah) in its early days,” she told Prof Gu.
The book was put together by Daily Express Chief Editor James Sarda when Datuk Mary Yap was one of the federal Deputy Education Ministers.
