TAMBUNAN: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kiawayan here achieved notable success at the 40th Karya Pilihan Tahunan Negeri Sabah (KPTNS), earning multiple recognitions in the state-level arts event.
The achievements involved both teachers and students, reflecting the school’s strong emphasis on creativity and visual arts development.
In the leadership and mentorship category, two teachers, Fredaus Johari Gugau and Csyahyrull Ronny J Matimbun, received the Inspirational Teacher Award.
The recognition acknowledged their dedication in nurturing artistic talent among students and promoting visual arts education.
The school’s success was further highlighted by student Skye Ronny J Matimbun, who won the State-Level Selected Artwork category.
Several other students also excelled at the divisional level, including Amanda Freya Javier Leo, Leonell Xavier Larry Presley, Arfan Daniyal Antones, Ryle Ronny J Matimbun, Csyahyrull Ronny J Matimbun and Roxanne Joyelle Reynold.
SK Kiawayan Headmaster Paujin Lawrence expressed gratitude to teachers for their commitment in guiding students to achieve such recognition.
He also thanked parents for their continued support, noting that strong collaboration between the school and families is key to student success.
He said the achievements not only highlight academic and artistic potential but also bring pride to Tambunan at the state level.
