KENINGAU: The Kg Baru Bingkor Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) initiative to organise the People-Friendly Homes (RMR) Briefing Program with Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) will enable residents to know how to own their own homes.

The program at the Kg Baru Bingkor Open Hall at 9.30am on June 6 will see SPNB officers provide direct information to the community regarding eligibility requirements, application procedures and methods of implementing the People-Friendly Homes Program.

Managing Director of AMC Academy, Faridah Alexius Muri Gulim Adau, said many rural communities, especially young people and low-income families, still need clearer access to affordable home ownership opportunities.

The residents described the approach of bringing government agencies directly to the village as a correct and practical step because many people previously did not understand the actual channels for making applications.

“Sometimes people want to apply but do not know the actual procedure. When officers go down to the village themselves and the people can ask questions face to face, everything becomes easier to understand,” said Chairman of JKKK Kampung Baru Bingkor, Rosmah Tuving.

Village Head, Saidin Egih said the idea and efforts of Kampung Baru (Mukim Tuntumulod / DUN Bingkor) should be emulated because it not only saves costs and time for rural residents, but also helps people obtain authentic information directly.

Faridah hoped participation in the program would not be limited to residents of Kampung Baru Bingkor but nearby villages.

“Home ownership is no longer a basic need, but a symbol of stability in life and the family’s future.

“Many youth and families in the village actually have dreams of owning their own homes, but lack exposure to the opportunities available,” she said.
