MK Datuk Peter Mojuntin wins two bronze medals at ITEX
Kota Kinabalu: SMK Datuk Peter Mojuntin added another feather to its cap when it won bronze medals during the 26th International Invention Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2015 at Kuala Lumpur recently.The Penampang school sent two teams to the event and both won medals in the category of Asian Young Inventors Exhibition 2015 and Malaysian Young Inventors Exhibition 2015 held on May 21 – 23.

Despite taking bronze, the teams' members described it as a dream come true for them. The first team comprised Form 1H students – Oliver Cleopas Victor Subinon, Beckham Osbourne Ferdinand and Mohd Izzul Khairi – under the guidance of Invention teacher Artina Ariff – and entered their invention called "Smart Water Filter."

According to Artina, the school has been competing in invention competitions regularly at the state, national or international levels but this was the first time it had won a prize at international level.

The second team comprising SMK Peter Mojuntin's Form 5C students - Cindy Benjamin, Sylendra Nurul Ain and Masita Rusikin – won bronze with their invention "L.E.D Pen."

The Form 5C team was guided by ICT teacher Kalsom Saidina Othman and Invention teacher Azanriah Abdul Rahman.

They received the prizes from Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin during the Invention Culture Night in conjunction with the event, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on May 22.
