Kota Kinabalu: A 27-year-old peninsula doctor attached to the Pitas Hospital was found drowned at Pantai Tanjung Simpang Mengayau, in Kudat, three days after he was reported missing. State Civil Defence Department Director Col Mulliadi Al-Hamdi Ladin identified the doctor as Muhammad Nadhir Aziz from Shah Alam, Selangor.It was learnt that he was on holiday and stayed at a lodge near the beach where he was last seen on Friday evening.

The body was found on the beach in front of the Civil Defence Department beach rescue tower located about 330 metres from where his lodge was at about 12.35pm on Monday. "A Medical Rescue vehicle manned by four personnel from the Civil Defence Department rushed to the scene," he said.
A red flag which was put up since Sept 25 was also seen in the area. The flag was to warn visitors that the rough sea condition was not safe for swimming. Acting Kudat Police Chief ASP Chung Piaw Joon said they were alerted of the discovery at about 2.06pm.

He said preliminary inspections showed no traces of foul play, adding that the case has been classified as sudden deathThe body has been sent to the Kudat Hospital for post mortem.
