Man killed, another injured in K'gau crash
Keningau: A 51-year old local died after the Perodua Myvi he was driving collided with a Toyota Revo at Km 38, Jalan Keningau-Sook, in front of a supermarket here, Tuesday.District Police Chief Deputy Supt. Douglas Taong said the driver of the Toyota Revo was travelling towards Keningau from Sook while the victim was getting out of the supermarket's junction and was making a turn to the right towards Sook.

"The Toyota Revo driver could not stop on time and hit the right side of the Perodua Myvi, causing it to overturn," he said.

Douglas added the victim died on the spot from severe head injuries while his passenger suffered serious injury to the neck and had been referred to the Keningau Hospital for treatment.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota Revo only suffered minor injuries.

"Further investigation revealed that the accident was due to the negligence of the victim who failed to check if the traffic was safe before crossing the road." The body of the victim was taken to Keningau Hospital for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, in KOTA KINABALU, two motorcyclists suffered injuries when the motorcycle they were on collided with a Proton Persona at the highway facing the Tanjung Aru Railway station on Wednesday.

In the 1.15pm incident, they were heading from here to Kepayan while a 50-year-old man driving the Proton Persona was coming from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) direction to go to Kepayan.

The 27-year-old rider suffered a backache while his 26-year-old pillion rider injured his knee and his palms.

The Persona driver escaped injuries.
