Tawau: A 19-year-old girl was nabbed and RM450,000 worth of syabu weighing about 3,164 grammes seized from her at the arrival hall of the Tawau airport on Thursday. The teenager had just arrived on a flight from Kuala Lumpur. District Police Chief ACP Fadil Marsus said the teenager was arrested by a narcotics team led by Insp. Abdol Rahman, who stopped her for inspections after receiving a tip-off.

He said during inspections, the local from Tawau was carrying a black bag on her right hand and a white striped pink bag on the other hand. "Further inspections at the airport police station, led to the discovery of the drugs which were hidden inside several cans kept under packets of snacks.
"The drugs were kept inside six cans with the words '36 Percent' containing plastic packets," he said, adding that there was another can inside it. Police also confiscated the teenager's documents and her other belongings together with 23 packets of junk food and a set of children's toys believed to be meant to avoid being detected.
