Man killed, two others hurt
Kota Kinabalu: A man was killed and two others were seriously injured when the Mitsubishi Triton they were travelling in crashed near Kesapang, along Jalan Kota Belud-Kota Marudu, on Wednesday.Police identified the driver as Maiki Kumpit, a Dusun from Kg Gontuong Rosok, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The two seriously injured were 25-year-old Mahlon Jusfin and 26-year-old Jaslin Abar, both also from Kg Gontuong Rosok.

Kota Belud Police Chief Supt Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said initial investigations found that the trio were headed towards Kota Belud from Kota Marudu when the 2.40pm tragedy took place.

Preliminary findings showed that the driver lost control of the vehicle which swerved and plunged into a drain.

The impact caused the driver to succumb at the scene, while his two passengers were rushed to the Kota Belud Hospital due to serious injuries.
