Kota Kinabalu: A police report has once again been lodged by the Pakatan Pro-BN Sabah, this time against several individuals for allegedly connecting Umno to the on-going Ops Water investigations carried out by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). Its President Zulkarnain Mahdar said these individuals also made damaging statements when they claimed that the millions of cash seized by the MACC were meant for the interest of Umno.

"There is no evidence in the form of documentation that can be used in court to support their allegations," he said after lodging the report at the Karamunsing police station here, on Thursday.

Zulkarnain, who has made many police reports in the past on matters of public interest, however believed that the accusations were more for personal interest and not linked to any political parties or politicians.

On that note, he urged the people not to believe unverified statements circulated over social media and to stop speculating over the on-going case.

"Let MACC do their job, and until then, everyone should stop making assumptions," he said, adding that stern action should be taken against those who spread false claims.

The allegations came following the arrests of the director and deputy director of the State Water Department for allegedly monopolising projects valued at more than RM3.3 billion under the purview of their department since 2010 by giving them to relatives.

They are believed to have amassed more than RM50 million in wealth.

A 55-year-old businessman with the title 'Datuk' and his 50-year-old accountant, were also roped in by the MACC.
