Eco Run in Matunggong Oct 23

Kota Kinabalu: Persatuan Olahraga Matunggong in collaboration with the Persatuan Momogun Rungus Sabah will hold a 15km Magahuathon 2016 Eco Run on Oct 23 at the Puruvan Square grounds in Matunggong. Magahauthon 2016 Eco Run Executive Chairman Stanley Donal in a statement here on Wednesday said Matunggong Assemblyman Dato Jelani Hamdan who is Persatuan Momogun Rungus Sabah President will flag off the run at 6am.

He said the run is quite different from others as it requires runners to negotiate villages, the forest and the Gumantong Mountain.

"The run is more 'Eco Run', the 15 kilometre run will start from Puruvan Square to Kg. Sumangkap then to Gumantong before returning to Puruvan Square," he said.

Stanley said the run will be divided into Men's and Women's category (Men and Women Open) and Veteran Men and Veteran Women Category, each offering prizes in the form of cash, certificate and medal.

In the student category (Men), the champion will receive RM400, a certificate and a medal, while the runner-up will get RM200, certificate and medal.

Third and fourth placed runners will take home RM100 and RM50 as well as a certificate and medal respectively, while fifth to tenth placed runners will go home with RM30, certificate and medal each.
