Duterte confirms arrest of bombing suspect in KL

Kota Kinabalu: Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte (pic) confirmed that Malaysian authorities have arrested a Filipino suspect in the Sept 2 Davao City bombing.He said the son of Mindanao political leaders was arrested in Kuala Lumpur in connection with the blast that killed 15 people."He is now detained in Malaysia," Duterte told the audience attending a Davao City business community gathering.

Daily Express reported last Saturday that the suspect, Datu Mohammad Abduljabbar, 26, was arrested on Nov. 24 at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport upon his arrival from Bangkok.Based on police, military and diplomatic sources, the report also said Philippine Defence Secretary Delfin Lorenzena has requested the Malaysian Government for the custody of the suspect and also sent law enforcement representatives to Kuala Lumpur to take disposition last month.
