style="text-transform: uppercase;">Penampang: The "winds of change" will not be blowing in Sabah or Kapayan in the coming 14th General Election (GE14), said MCA Penampang Chairman Datuk Francis Goh."There is only one possibility where the wind can be blowing – in Sarawak," he said.

He said the local opposition parties kept telling Sabahans that the "winds of change" will be blowing again in the State in the GE14.

"I would like to rectify this by telling our voters that the 'winds of change' will not be blowing in Kapayan or Sabah.

The reason is that most of the State are aligned to Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno. The 'winds of change' can only happen in Sarawak without Umno.

Sabah revenue hits RM6.97 billion: Hajiji says GRS State Government may see full term
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government continued its momentum in managing the economy in line with the commitment and spirit of the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) when it posted record high state revenue of RM6.973 billion last year.
"They (Sarawakians) have the freedom of where to jump overnight and when this happens, then of course the BN government can collapse and it can become an opposition-controlled government.

"But this will not happen in Sabah. That is why my statement rebukes what the opposition always say and try to imply into our voters' mind by saying things like this year is the lunar Year of the Rooster and when we kill the chicken the wind will blow."

He said this to reporters when met during the MCA Penampang CNY Walkabout in Donggongon on Sunday.

During the walk, Goh extended his CNY greetings and distributed mandarin oranges and angpows to the public.

On the chances of the state opposition parties forming a united bloc against BN in the State for the general election, Goh said of course everyone is expecting this, both opposition and BN.

"We view this seriously as the opposition can surely win more seats if they can combine forces and have a one on one fight with BN.

"But the history of Sabah politics and even the whole of Malaysia has shown that this has never happened because of the greed of politicians as well as parties trying to affirm their superiority over other parties.

So these are the problems that we foresee (in the opposition front) and in terms of unity the move to unite (the various opposition parties) into an opposition force is quite impossible.

"If the opposition is split, it will give an advantage to BN and we want to say that BN is very united with a common symbol even though we have more than 10 parties.

"The opposition at the moment cannot even resolve how to come up with a logo that represents them in the opposition. What they do is have three flags in one logo so if its six parties you have six flags in one logo.

They don't have an 'identity' to fit the objective of a 'logo'. This is already a clear distinction between the BN and opposition parties."

On whether MCA Sabah will be getting back the Luyang seat, Goh said traditionally Luyang and Kepayan are considered the MCA quota.

"We will be working hard for the two seats."
