Kota Kinabalu: Kapayan Assemblyman Dr Edwin Bosi said he is ready to face MCA potential candidate Datuk Francis Goh in the coming GE-14, expected in May this year. "As far as I am concerned MCA is a spent force in Malaya and has been abandoned by the Chinese community.

In 2013, MCA in Sabah also lost all the seats it contested. Therefore suffice to say MCA is rejected by the Chinese community in Malaysia and has nothing to show," he said.

Dr Bosi said, MCA cannot even exert any influence on their big brother, Umno.

"The Party has to bend over to Umno in issues that are very important and close to the Chinese such as education and fault lies with MCA itself.

Dr Bosi noted that MCA and Goh are financially strong and the latter has been very generous to the people of Penampang especially in Kapayan. Goh has called me a "lame duck" and asked the people to be wise and vote for him as he is capable of serving the electorates.

I tell the people to be wary because upon winning he hopes to be a Minister and from there he will focus on recovering his money spent prior to the election. He will have no time for the people in Kapayan.

Dr Bosi claimed being told by some supporters that Goh has admitted using millions of ringgit to prepare for this election. Kapayan is a mixed seat comprising equal percentage between Chinese and Kadazan.

Dr Bosi said he has lost substantial voters from the voting district of Lido when the Election Commission excised and placed it under Luyang. In 2013 Lido has about 3,800 voters and 85pc of them voted for DAP.

He said MCA's last chance of proving to be relevant in Sabah politics is in Kapayan.

" I believe that why Lido has been moved to Luyang. "For me winning and losing in an election is dependent on the voters."

Dr Bosi said the BN government is unable to provide good governance unlike the DAP-led government of Penang.

"Just look at the scandals plaguing Umno-BN and their leaders. The level of corruption is unprecedented and our international image has been dented. Businesses are going under while foreign investors are not forthcoming.

I am not surprised if the foreign investors are pulling out," he said.
