Mix Edu United and EMD FT complete last 16 line-up

Kota Kinabalu: Mix Edu United and EMD FT are the final two teams that have made it to the last 16 of the Datuk Tawfiq Cup football tournament.Mix Edu registered a 2-1 win over TPS FC in the final group D match played on Saturday while EMD FT progressed as the best fourth place team.There was another match played on Sunday where Putra United defeated Reka DBKK 5-2 in Group E, but the result did not affect the overall standing as the two teams and Darau FC had earlier confirmed their places in the last 16.

The 16 teams that will feature in the knockout stage are Racing Athletic FC KK, AMV FC Kimanis and Likas United FC II from Group A, Barracuda FC Pensiangan, The Blues FC KK, Adisson FC Kota Belud (Group B), Juta FC Keningau, Simfield FC KK, Terra Queen FC KK, EMD FT KK (Group C), Teambau FC Kota Belud, Unida CF (KK), Mix Edu United Tuaran (Group D), Putra United Kota Belud, Darau FC KK and Reka DBKK (Group E).The draws were held Tuesday and the matches will start on November 24-26 at the Likas Synthetic Pitch.The inaugural tournament held only on weekends is organised by Titingan Football Club (TFC) together with Real Event, Mizanis Sports Boutique (MSB), Yunus Property Consultant Sdn Bhd and Panzer.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

The winners will receive RM12,000, runners-up RM7,000 and the losing semi-finalists each will receive RM3,000 with RM1,000 each for the losing quarterfinalists. – GL Oh
