Kota Kinabalu: City Hall will hold a second Amnesty Day 2.0, in conjunction with the "Program Ramai-Ramai", at the Inanam night market today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday). The amnesty is for compounds issued under the Kota Kinabalu City By-laws (Provisions of Parking Places) (Coupon Parking).

Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai said compounds issued under the By-laws, involving illegal parking and coupon parking offences, will only be charged RM10 for each compound.

Additionally, those who still have unsettled parking tickets (prior to the implementation of the parking coupon system) will also get a reduction, in which the owner only has to pay RM10 for each vehicle.

The first Amnesty Day held on Feb 2 was extended to Feb 9 following numerous requests.

The Amnesty 2.0 will focus on sub-urban areas and facilitate local communities to settle their outstanding compounds and parking charges.

Members of the public are advised to take the opportunity to settle their outstanding compounds and parking charges.

Subsequently, court action will be taken by the City Hall against those who have not settled the compounds and outstanding parking charges.

Check and payment counters will be opened at the Inanam night market on both days from 8am to 5pm.

In addition, online checks and payments will also be available through https://eservices.dbkk.sabah.gov.my/compounds during the two days.

In addition to the Amnesty Day, several activities have also been lined up by the City Hall in conjunction with the "Program Ramai-Ramai" such as the Unity Ride, Unity Walk, Mr Badang, sports, cooking competition, silat performance by children, colouring contest, blood donation drive and free optic screening, among others.

Exhibition booths will also be opened by City Hall, the Health Ministry, Bank Negara Malaysia, Malaysian Drug Prevention Association (Pemadam) Kota Kinabalu and the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama), among others.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan will officiate the programme at 7am on Feb 25.

It is held in conjunction with Kota Kinabalu's 18th anniversary as a city with the aim of socialising City Hall, strengthening unity and harmony in the community, introducing City Hall and related agencies to sub-urban communities and raise public awareness on environmental health care.
