Published on: Thursday, June 14, 2018

Kota Kinabalu: The Health and Community Well-being Ministry is satisfied with traders who have been adhering to the 19 price controlled items implemented for the festive season.

Its Minister Stephen Wong said since the implementation of the price control scheme, three cases were reported where the offenders were given a warning for not putting up price tags.

"Some 950 sellers have been inspected in collaboration with the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) and other relevant authorities, and the results are satisfying," he said after an inspection operation at Kota Kinabalu Wet Market, in conjunction with the 2018 Hari Raya Holiday Season Price Control Scheme, Wednesday.

During the inspection, brochures were also handed out to stall operators at the market as a guideline on the prices of the controlled items.

Also present were Kota Kinabalu MP Chan Foong Hin, Luyang Assemblyman Phoong Jin Zhe, Mayor Datuk Yeo Boon Hai and KPDNKK Sabah Deputy Director (Chief Enforcement Officer) Ravichandran Vadivellu. - Jeremy S Zabala
