Jobless charged with threatening to hurt his Mum

Kota Kinabalu: A local jobless was charged in the Magistrate's Court, here, Friday with threatening to injure his 62-year-old mother last week.Mohd Alli Mirdad Yusof, 34, pleaded not guilty to committing the crime toward one Tumirah Tomidjo at 4.45pm on Aug 10 at a house in Taman Sempelang near here.Inspector Albert Basiri, prosecuting, objected bail on the grounds that the victim in the case was the accused's mother.

Magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus fixed Aug 29 for case management and ordered Alli be remanded further.Meanwhile, a 38-year-old was also charged with a similar case of threatening to kill his former girlfriend.Unemployed Peter Fasillah Andrew claimed trial before Magistrate Afiq Agoes to committing the offence against one Murni Muksin, 41, at a hotel along Jalan Bundusan in Penampang at 10am on Aug 12.Inspector Nur Hidayah Mahzan, prosecuting, proposed bail at RM3,000 to Peter.

The court set Aug 28 for mention and released Peter on a bail of RM2,000 in two sureties.Both Alli and Peter were unrepresented.

They were charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to two years or with fine or both on conviction.In another case, five people were penalised for committing drug-related offences.Nur Izzaty Farhana, who admitted before Afiq to having 0.03gm of syabu here on May 6, was jailed eight months.Mohd Hairil Ruzan, Sabarudin Baharudin, Jacky Jolson and Hanif Hatta pleaded guilty separately before Cindy to taking drugs at separate locations here between July 6 and 11.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
