Kota Kinabalu: Tan Sri Musa Aman, who was sworn in as Sibuga Assemblyman on Wednesday, will now be the Opposition Leader in the State Legislative Assembly.

Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) President Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, who was the acting opposition head, said Musa would take over the role in the next Assembly sitting.

"I feel very happy and elated that Tan Sri Musa Aman is back. I am sure he will discharge his duties well as an elected people's representative. Since he (Musa) has returned and taken his oath as Sibuga Assemblyman, he will be the opposition head in the next Assembly sitting," he told reporters after welcoming Musa and accompanied him for the swearing-in ceremony at the State Assembly, here, Wednesday.

Also present were Sabah Umno Liaison Chief Datuk Seri Hajiji Mohd Noor and Secretary Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, Membakut Assemblyman Datuk Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif, Kawang Assemblyman Datuk Ghulam Haidar Khan Bahadar, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Secretary-General Datuk Johnny Mositun, Kiulu Assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Usukan Assemblyman Datuk Japlin Ukim, other Umno assemblymen and party leaders.

On July 4, this year, Dr Jeffrey sat as the opposition leader in the Assembly pending the return of Musa.

Meanwhile, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Secretary-General Datuk Johnny Mositun said Musa's return and taking oath as Sibuga Assemblyman is just one of the responsibilities the latter has fulfilled.

He said Musa's return also showed that the latter did not run away from his duties and responsibilities as an elected people's representative.

"Supporters and the public can see Musa's health condition and despite that he decided to come back and discharge his duties as Sibuga assemblyman," he said.
