Ministry to address Tawau school woes
Tawau: The Education Ministry will request the Public Works Department (PWD) to appraise the cost in repairing the damages at SMK Titingan II here.Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said it will be carried out as soon as works to build the connecting road is completed.

In addition, a security guard will be placed in the school to protect the school property from burglars.

"There are a lot of things that need to be done to repair the school due to serious damages including broken windows and air-conditioning as well as to replace the stolen items," he said during a visit here Friday.

The State Government has been contacted regarding the matter, especially on the connecting road issue, he said.

"Necessary action must be taken to ensure the school can be utilised as it should have been in the past two years."

Idris, however, said the rehabilitation of the school would take time because it requires certain amount of allocation.

On his visit, he said it was to see for himself the problems faced by the schools in Tawau and Semporna.
