Sandakan: Residents of Taman Tshun Ngen, located at Mile 5, Jalan Utara, here, hope the authorities will do something about the group of monkeys turning up in their residential area. A resident, who declined to be named, said the monkeys have started to turn the children's playground into a monkey hangout.

"The primates seem to be getting more daring when one, believed to a matured male monkey, was seen climbing up to one of the water tanks at a premises here," he claimed Saturday.

"We do not know what germs these primates might carry with them and our water might be contaminated by these primates seen playing around our water tanks. "Our concern is that these primates might also attack our children or one of our elderly citizens if the authorities do nothing to address this matter," he said.
