Kota Kinabalu: Sabahans were urged to be wary about the cronyism agenda of the opposition especially with its de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.President of Pakatan Pro BN, Zulkarnain Mahdar, said the "Kajang Move" where Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim is expected to be replaced by PKR President, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, is actually being masterminded by Anwar.

He said Sabahans should "open" wide their eyes with what is happening in Selangor as this could also happen in Sabah if the opposition were voted in as government.

As a former "reformasi" fighter under the PKR, Zulkarnain said he knows Anwar's mindset very well.

"When he appointed his own wife to replace Khalid, it showed how he disregards ethics over interest or agenda," he said. He said there is no leader in the world that appoints his spouse to be the head of a state government except Anwar.

Which is clearly an example of cronyism, he said.

And thus, if ever the opposition wins in Sabah, a similar predicament could befall it also, he said.

"If Anwar could do it in Selangor, he could also do it in Sabah if ever the opposition becomes the state government.

"He could appoint any of his cronies from the peninsula to become the government leader here," he said.

It is no different with PKR's counterpart DAP, he said, where Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng was not even a Penangite but was appointed to the position on the advice of his father Lim Kit Siang, who is the adviser of DAP.

Zulkarnain said the replacement of Khalid would surely have an impact to Sabahans residing in Selangor.

Wan Azizah, he said, has no administration background or work experience and thus the lives of the people in Selangor and Sabahans residing there would be in worse situation than now.

"The Selangor Menteri Besar replacement exercise, I believe, will cause the project to construct a dam at Ulu Langat to be cancelled.

"This will make the lives of the residents in Selangor that also include many Sabahans to be in a worse situation," he said.

He said many of them are staying in flats and they have to go down the building just to get water from the mobile water trucks or other sources.

He also feared that if Khalid were to be replaced by Wan Azizah, it would create a political uncertainty.

This is because, she has no economic background or experience.

"At least Khalid has some basic background in the economy.

With Selangor's economic background mainly in manufacturing and industry, how will she be able to maintain investor confidence with the Selangor State Government?" he said.
