Two held with RM25,000 worth of drugs

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Two local Chinese men were apprehended in two separate raids conducted by police for possessing drugs with a street value of RM25,000.City Police Chief ACP M. Chandra said the first suspect was nabbed in an open space at the Hartamas Height apartment in Jalan Kepayan during a raid at around 3pm on Thursday."After conducting a check on the man, he handed over a cookie tin to the police. Upon inspection, police found six packets of ketamine weighing 300gm and 100 pink pills suspected to be Ecstasy pills, weighing 26gm.

"A follow-up operation later was conducted at a nearby house where the team found two packets containing dried plants, suspected to be cannabis weighing 101gm," he said in a press conference here, Friday.The 29-year old self-employed man also tested positive for ketamine.Chandra added that the police also seized a Kancil car, a gold necklace and cash in various currencies namely Taiwanese Dollar (2,500), Singaporean Dollar (300), Hong Kong Dollar (2,040), Thai Baht (2,800) and Chinese Yuan Renminbi (4,606).

The value in Malaysian Ringgit of the foreign currencies is RM4,594.46.In the second case, another local Chinese man aged 25 was detained after police found three packets of suspected ketamine weighing 59gm during a raid on a premises in Taman Ria, Jalan Lintas in Luyang on Friday.
