Mara-unit gives away books to schools

SEMPORNA: Mara Investments Berhad donated books to 20 schools in the district, through its Corporate Responsibility Programme. The contribution was presented by the Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal at the Semporna Umno office. According to the Mara Investment Chairman, Datuk Sohaimi Shahadan, the Mara group wants to play a significant role in shaping and strengthening community knowledge through the reading culture. He said this is one way to give back to the community that has supported the company to date in addition to bridging the gap between the community and the company.
