TUARAN: Two Filipino men who tested positive for drugs were apprehended by police after several packets of substance, believed to be syabu were found in their possession here, on Wednesday. Acting District Police Chief ASP Juraimah Ismail said a team from the District Narcotics Department raided a hill area in front of Taman Telipok Ria here, after receiving tip-off from the community nearby.

She said there was a slight scuffle when the unemployed duo tried to flee but were apprehended by police during the 3.30pm raid.

"Our team confiscated a total of 141 plastic packets of various sizes containing the substance weighing about 71.4 grammes worth about RM11,000," she told a media conference held at the Tuaran Police Department here, on Friday.

Also present was District Narcotics Department Chief ASP Harold M. Soiwil.

She said preliminary investigations showed that they have been distributing drugs in the district for the past six months, adding that police are investigating whether they are linked to any syndicate and where they obtained the drugs.
